Baked Parmesan Broccoli

Ingredients


2 heads of broccoli, cut into florets
6 tablespoons dairy or non dairy butter, divided
1 small onion, finely chopped
2 garlic clove, minced
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
2 cups dairy or non-dairy milk
1 egg or egg substitute, beaten
1 cup Panacheeza cheese, divided
Salt and pepper to taste
3/4 cup seasoned bread crumbs

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°. Steam broccoli until tender (4-5 minutes) and place in baking dish.
  2. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt 4 tablespoons butter. Add onion; cook and stir until tender. Add garlic; cook 1 minute longer.
  3. Stir in flour until blended; gradually add milk. Bring to a boil; cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened. Add egg and stir for 1 minute. Remove from heat; stir in 1/2 cup Panacheeza, salt and pepper. Pour over broccoli.
  4. Combine 2 tablespoons butter, bread crumbs and 1/2 cup Panacheeza. Sprinkle overtop broccoli.
  5. Bake, uncovered, 15-18 minutes or until heated through.
