From Kitchen Creations to Company Success: The Panacheeza Story

Panacheeza's evolution from home kitchen experiments to a thriving company success.

 

In 2009, my journey into the world of plant-based cheese began in my humble kitchen. Back then, plant-based options were scarce, and enthusiasts like me had to don the apron and experiment to recreate the flavors we once loved. The cheese I missed the most? Parmesan, of course!

In 2018, a TV commercial featuring spaghetti adorned with fluffy, white parmesan triggered my determination. A decade without dairy parmesan was enough; I jumped off the couch and embarked on an experimentation process. After blending a few ingredients, I tasted the closest version of parmesan I'd had in 10 years (though still not quite there!).

As the years passed, my plant-based parmesan became a staple at my dinner parties and work lunches, piquing the curiosity of friends and family. Soon, I found myself taking orders and spending every evening crafting my parmesan to share with others.

Enter my now-husband, who, after trying my parmesan, was floored and insisted we turn this kitchen creation into a business. With backgrounds in business administration and professional athletics, we dove into the food industry headfirst.

Fostering connections in our Rochester community, we built an incredible ecosystem to guide us through bringing a food product to market. In April 2022, Panacheeza was officially incorporated. By May 2023, we had secured ingredient suppliers, a manufacturer, co-packer, packaging, labels, certifications, and brought our entire brand vision to life.



One of the most challenging aspects was translating the quality of my kitchen-made product to large-scale manufacturing. My philosophy has always been to keep food clean with minimal ingredients, and sourcing the right ingredients and finding the right manufacturing partner allowed us to maintain these high standards.

Transitioning from kitchen-scale to large-scale production required careful consideration of production methods. We collaborated closely with our manufacturing partner to maintain the handmade essence of our product. Each batch is crafted with the same dedication and attention to detail that began in my kitchen.

Quality is non-negotiable for Panacheeza. We took the time to find a co-packer who understood and embraced our commitment to minimal, clean ingredients. Rigorous quality control measures are in place at every stage of production to ensure each jar of Panacheeza meets our high standards.
